Fighting depression

Just look around yourself and carefully observe, you will easily find someone who is depressed and does not know what to do in life. Many people are depressed due to broken relationships and many due to their never ending needs. Depression is like a black cloud that is surrounding many people globally and it has a lot to do with the financial meltdown. I believe we have more depressed people in the world today than ever in the human history. Ok, I understand this could also be due to the increase of population globally, but I am sure the percentage of depressed people is very high on a global stage.

There are many countries where the citizens are tired of their government and are looking for violent solutions to their problems. Employees are being exploited at their work places, with demands for more work and quality, with lesser pay. If targets are not achieved then you will lose your job. This is also resulting in family problems worldwide, as spouses are spending more and more time at work than at home.

Dealing with depression is an art that most of us have to learn before it kills us. First of all we have wake up to the fact that we are getting depressed and might be heading towards a deeper depression. A problem cannot be solved before we accept its existence. And there is no exception to this whether you are a man or women.

Once you accept the fact that you are fighting depression then you are in a position to deal with it. The next step is finding the reason for your depression. There could be multiple reasons for your depression, which is why it would be better to write it down. After writing it, you can simply go ahead and make another column and write the possible ways to solve them. Most people are not able to analyze a situation properly when depressed. Many times when you analyze your problem, you will find out that it’s not that difficult. Once you have the solutions written then make a column with things that are distracting you from reaching the solution.

The moment you have these three things in hand, I am sure you will be a lot relieved as now you don’t have a hopeless situation but something actionable. Simply go and execute your plans, take one day at a time. Don’t try to do everything at a go. And most important celebrate every time you get closer to the solution.
